WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic is a Primary Health Care Profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the muscles and skeletal system, and how these disorders affect your nervous system and general health. Care is provided through a variety of manual techniques together with recommendations regarding lifestyle and active self-care. Click here to find out about techniques used by our chiropractors.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MY FIRST VISIT?

During your first visit we will go through a detailed history of your condition, followed by questions about your medical history. This allows us to begin to build a clinical picture of your state of health and factors that may affect the results of treatment.

After this the Chiropractor will perform a physical examination assessing joint motion, soft tissue reaction and nerve function. The Chiropractor will assess the area of complaint, but may also look at other areas of your body that may contribute to your problem. You will be asked to undress to your underwear and offered a gown to wear. Please feel free to bring a pair of flexible shorts with you.

Before treatment the Chiropractor will explain their findings and your diagnosis. They will also explain the recommended treatment plan along with the benefits and risks associated with care. If they believe chiropractic care is not appropriate for you, they may suggest a referral to your GP or another health professional.

If you are happy to proceed, treatment can start at the first visit. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your first visit.

Vicki, Amateur Writer

I have had an abundance of chiropractic work during my adult years, having lived and worked in the complimentary health field for over 20 years, so it was a genuine joy to discover Tom’s healing hands. From the first consultation, I felt his multi-faceted approach was sympathetic to my body and mind. I cannot recommend him highly enough

I thoroughly recommend the Marlborough Chiropractic Clinic. From the moment you are greeted by the smiling receptionist and then on to see the wonderful Sophie you know you are in good hands and it is a very nice clinic to walk in to and very friendly
